Ground to Sea

OCEAN AQUAMARINE

The Sea

I’m breathing

In and out

And asked to

Bring

Dark dirt

Ground

Through you

The juncos came back a week ago Thursday. While I walked yesterday I thought about them and plus my Gram. She and I had lots to chat about when it came to birds. She lived near the sea. I miss her.  And the updates about the turkeys in her yard. And talk of the hilarity of sandpipers on the shore.

A long time ago my Gram told me about the blue birds and how they went away. And came back. She would get her fill of them when she came to visit us because we had houses for them that they nested in. So much talk about the lives of birds coming and going.

Moss on the mountain.

And speaking of coming and going. The folks at our local Audubon might not believe me when I say that I heard a raven up on the mountain. And then I saw it! Ahead of a bunch of crows making a racket. They chased it off. MWA HAAA! I hope I see it again.

I’m lichen this too.

I think it was on a reconnaissance mission. I know the ravens do heaps of work without even coming close to some places, but it might be important to check out a hill before relocating. Yeah. I hope I’m going to be updating you with more true facts of ravens moving in.
